About the Conference:
The Kabarak University International Conference on Music and Performing Arts is an annual event organized by the School of Music and Media. It facilitates the exchange of knowledge in music, film, theatre, and other creative arts. This year’s conference emphasizes the impact of digital innovations on artistic practices while addressing important ethical issues. It aims to foster meaningful dialogue among artists, creatives, and field experts.

Conference Objectives

  1. Foster Dialogue on Digital Art Practices
    Encourage discussions on the influence of digital technology on artistic creation, distribution, and audience engagement.

  2. Re-examine Ethical Considerations in Art
    Explore cultural appropriation, representation, and sustainability, and redefine the boundaries of responsible artistic expression.

  3. Showcase Original Works and Innovations
    Provide a platform for presenting compositions, performances, and films, with discussions on how technology influenced the creative process.

Call for Submissions

The School of Music and Media invites submissions for presentations at the conference to be held at Kabarak University on:

6th – 7th October 2025

Submission Formats:

  • Papers – Case studies and empirical works (10–15 min presentations)

  • Creative Works – Musical compositions, film/theatre performances, and recordings (15–20 min presentations with short talks)

Publication:

  • All abstracts will be published in the conference proceedings.

  • Selected submissions will undergo double-blind peer review for publication in the Kabarak University Journal of Research (KJRI).

  • Paper Acceptance Notification: 30th August 2025

  • Registration Deadline: 20th September 2025

  • Conference Dates: 6th – 7th October 2025
